Talking The man who put Mother Teresa in view,Dr.Phil and the whole entertainment industry!

"Television was not intended to make human beings vacuous, but it is an emanation of their vacuity."
Malcolm Muggeridge

I'll be right back with a cliche, I mean comment, after I check with Dr. Phil to see what I should say. Meanwhile, here's a few words from our sponser.

Allen on 2013-04-11 13:25:55
But wait! There's more!!

oddcouple on 2013-10-27 01:52:20
As shown by so-called reality shows, comedies that aren't funny, and talk shows that neither entertain nor inform.

Unwinding_at_The_Falcon on 2014-03-07 15:41:15
This man seemed to be confusing the medium with the programming offered by public access networks. Whenever someone says that television 'ruts your brain', I'm pretty sure they're referring to the programming and not the medium.

LLapp on 2014-11-13 10:50:31
But the medium IS the message. (Also the massage.)

He could have just said "We are high" and left it at that. Addiction is indiscriminate.

Default let's hear it for knitters!

""Heirloom" is knitting code for "This pattern is so difficult that you would consider death a relief."" Stephanie Pearl-McPhee

My parents were both incredible knitters.

universalmom on 2012-09-29 15:20:07
Really, your dad too? That's awesome

jstrider on 2013-10-07 07:11:33
I'm a married dude who knits too. I agree with the quote.

montyb on 2014-12-14 14:49:32
Yep, U-mom. Dad was the town doctor and he often would teach his cardiac patients (mostly farmers) to knit so they could keep busy if they couldn't farm anymore.

darkyr on 2015-04-16 05:51:45
I was thinking of taking up farming because I can't knit anymore.

I hate it when pears are sleepy.

Is it better if we are a nation of alert pears?
