why is it?

my server shuts down only when I hit solve, and never in the middle of a puzzle? it usually happens several times a month, and destroys my solve time.

That happens to me, too. (Time-Warner; happens almost daily.) What I'm assuming is that, once a puzzle loads, the program is complete. You may not have connection to load a new web page, but the existing page still remains.

Anyone who actually understands how the internet works have a better explanation?
