False. I use all ten (although the left thumb rarely). I grew up in the olden days when girls in high school, although bound for college, learned to touch-type "just in case." Little did the boys know at the time that one day computers would come along and give those touch-typing girls a big advantage. Well, maybe only a slight one. But they never counted on on-line cryptograms! (Bansais excepted.) This is where using all the digits really pays off. I am, however, very envious of the one-digit typist above me who can speak 8 languages -- a much greater accomplishment!

But I have inherited (by marriage) 3 grandchildren, ages 6, 4 and 2 ... plus three others of that generation (2 great step-nephews and one great step-niece?) ... all of whom are visiting right now for 5 days, while several of their parents are on an annual family fishing trip. So, if my scores are anemic this month, let's blame it on both of those generations.
